Title: My ill-dignified night This piece is showing the grievous relationship between two people. There are three main images in this drawing: a dove symbolizing love, a peacock symbolizing the feminine element, and a hawk symbolizing the masculine. The whole picture is depicted in a circular rotating motion, showing the emotion of being in this kind of relationship, where no answers are answered, and the constant issue of having to find yourself back where you started. the lines themselves almost seem choatic as the whole. Also I added elements to each bird representing the opposing individuals. The hawk has a fire element to the lines showing a personality that is strong and out going, lacking in emotion. The peacock has a water element, which commonly represents a free flowing personality with strong emotions. The two elements conflict with each other, without being able to cooperate with each other with battling the other’s element. One always seems to hurt the other, wither its water retarding the flame or fire evaporating the water. I choose to name this piece after a tarot card “The knight of Swords Ill-Dignified: In a reversed position the Knight of Swords represents a young individual with the tendency to unjustly act out physically and verbally against others. The Knight also represents a fight first and ask questions later attitude. Reversed the Knight signifies unrighteous and unjustified anger toward a group or another individual. Dignified: The Knight of Swords represents a strongly opinionated individual willing to stand up and defend what he believes in. The Knight of Swords usually represents the mentality of an activist or a political extremist that has no intention of compromising. The Knight of Swords depicts a person that righteously lashes out to have a direct and lasting impact on the people and situations around him. He is a person who moves swiftly onto the scene and makes immediate changes to an ailing situation. He takes up just causes and is relentless in his pursuit of justice, truth, and correcting bad judgments. He is honest, fair, and demands nothing but the truth from others. Typically he will only strike out when the situation demands it. He is understanding of others but considers justice and balance more effective then emotional outpourings.” [link] |
